Port Campbell Township & Cove Port Campbell is a coastal town on the Great Ocean Road in the Shire of Corangamite in Victoria, Australia. The town is located about half way between Warrnambool and Cape Otway and is 229 kilometres (142 miles), about a 2 3/4 hour drive, by direct road or 283 kilometres (176 miles), about a 4 1/2 hour drive, by the coastal road from Melbourne. The world famous Twelve Apostles limestone formations are located 12 kilometres to the east of the town and are a favourite tourist destination.

A view of  the Twelve Apostles limestone formations The town was first settled in the 1870s and the first wharf was built in 1880. The Post Office was opened on the 19th March 1874. In 1881 the original post office was renamed Port Campbell West when a new Port Campbell post office was opened near the wharf. Port Campbell had a population of 478 in the 2016 census.
